Frequently Asked Questions

What happens during a Reiki session?

Reiki sessions are quiet and relaxed. For a remote session, you’ll find a comfortable place where you can lie down or sit and won’t be disturbed. I’ll conduct the session from my location while you rest at home.

You don’t have to do anything during the session. Just get comfortable and let yourself have some quiet time.

What if I don’t feel anything?

That’s okay. Everyone experiences Reiki differently. Some people notice warmth, tingling, heaviness, or just a general sense of relaxation. Others don’t notice much during the session at all.

There’s no right or wrong way to experience it.

How does a distance Reiki session work?

We will choose a time for your session, and you can stay home in a comfortable, quiet space. I’ll conduct the session from my location while you rest where you are.

One of the things I like about remote sessions is that you don’t have to get in your car afterward. You can stay home, have some quiet time, and ease back into your day when you’re ready.

What happens during an intuitive reading?

You can come with specific questions or nothing in particular.

We will talk through things as they come up. I don’t see a reading as someone telling you exactly what you should do or what is going to happen. It’s more about taking a look at what’s going on and seeing if another perspective helps.

Do I need to prepare for a reading?

No. There’s nothing you need to do beforehand.

If you have questions you want to ask, bring them with you. If you would rather just see where the reading goes, that’s fine too.

Can I book a Reiki session and a reading together?

Yes. You can book them together if you would like to do both. You can also book either one on its own.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

If you need to change your appointment, please try to give me at least 24 hours' notice.

I keep my schedule fairly limited, so last minute cancellations can be difficult to fill. If something comes up, though, just let me know. I understand that things happen.

Is Reiki a replacement for medical or mental health care?

No. I’m a Reiki Master Teacher and intuitive practitioner, not a doctor or mental health professional.

Reiki and intuitive readings are not a replacement for medical care, therapy, medication, or other treatment from a licensed professional.

I have more questions about Reiki. Where can I learn more?

If you're curious about Reiki, its history, or the practice itself, these are a couple of places you can explore:

International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT)
A Reiki-focused resource with information about Reiki, its history, training, and practice.

National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH)
A good place to read about Reiki from a research and healthcare perspective.
